How did you integrate technologies software, hardware and online in this project?

Throughout the whole process of Creating my magazine I have blogged it all. I finished off with a little over 50 blogs. The main software services I used to create my magazine were Canva and an online graphic design creator. Canva made designing my magazine extremely simple and even fun by supplying me with every tool necessary for creating the project, from providing me with a number of fashion magazine templates, to informing me of tips and tricks to improve my magazine’s quality. In regards to hardware, I used my IPhone XR to capture several photos, not only those seen in my magazine, and uploaded them into Canva. In making my magazine, I was heavily reliant on the internet. Whether it was to conduct research for my feature article, search up examples of magazines for inspiration, or simply answer any questions I had in the process, the internet was the main source of information.

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

When I originally started doing media I was aware that I would be creating a magazine because I know someone who took this class previously so I somewhat had an Idea of what the class was about. But I didn’t know it was going to be this complicated and I mean that In a good way. I thought that magazines and blogs were going to be easy and simple but they actually required you to put in effort. The whole process I went through creating magazines and writing blogs has definitely improved my production skills and has taught me other skills as well. I learned things like how to conduct interviews, edit, make magazines, and learn production skills. We learned about how magazines have barcodes so I also included that. I decided to make the name of my magazine a different font so it always stands out. I also made my heading in bold so that it stands out as well and shows what the audience will be reading. Even though I knew very little on how to make a magazine I got the job done.

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

I believe the audience for my magazine is teens and young adults who are trying to express themselves or feel more confident. My magazine is a fashion magazine, and in making it, I ensured to include several techniques to target teen readers and engage the audience. I believe my audience would pick up my magazine with other teens and people around their age on it rather than one showing you to workout. Nowadays social media platforms and other magazines might make teens feel like they have to workout in order to be pretty. As opposed to mine, it shows people that everyone is beautiful no matter their height or weight.

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

Throughout the process of creating my magazine I got inspiration from different types of fashion magazines and gathered ideas for conventions I should apply to my magazine. The title of my magazine is Hype Fashion. The name is short, simple and memorable. I chose this name because it sounds energetic and simplistic at the same time. The fashion magazine is not only about high fashion clothing, however it also includes Beauty, health, love and travel. The magazine gives the audience a variety of fashionable ways of containing a luxurious lifestyle. The cover of my magazine is very conventional with having a single model on the cover posing that focuses on natural beauty and the model. Rather than the clothes or editorial makeup which would usually be found inside of the issue. My magazine's main focus is to show young teens feeling confident and ignoring fashion's beauty standards. In the fashion world there are standards set that help them choose which models to pick. Most of them along with Victoria Secret state you must be thin and tall. Lots of people in the world become discouraged and their self esteem is lowered. They feel as if they have to look like these people in order to be pretty. My magazine talks about these issues in order for people to feel like they are not alone. Hopefully my magazine encourages people to keep doing what they want and not listen to these companies' standards.

Blog #47- Final magazine cover

After adding a couple things here and there and editing my photo this is how my final magazine cover came out:

I will continue to give some updates in the production process of my magazine.

Blog#46: Production Blogs: Front Cover Photos

These are some of the photos that I took of my subject a while ago and I already decided that one of these pictures was going to be what I used for my magazine cover.

Here are the pictures:

When taking these pictures I felt like they would work well as the cover page. At first are originally planned on including them inside the magazines but thought that these would work better as covers because some fashion magazine put their model as the cover page and I thought I should do the same thing

Blog#45- Double page spread feature story plan

I have decided that the topic I want to use when writing my feature story for my double page spread has to somehow relate to fashion. I will be writing about some of the fashion trends around the world. I really wanted my magazine to be about fashion and I wanted the topic that I write not only to focus on my fashion model but touches up on some things that relate and are relevant to my topic.

Fashion and identity are inseparable companions. Fashion with all its symbolism and attributes form an outstanding base for personal and cultural identification. Identity is a necessary process of a healthy personality as it is a part of self-realization of a person that is so much required for finding a place in life of every person. So I wanted to talk about the different trends around the world and how they may relate to some cultures

I plan on asking my model for some information regarding the different trends around the world since he travel sometimes and has tried cloths from different places in the world.

Blog #44- answers to interview questions

To day i'm going to be showing the answers my model gave to my questions.

Why fashion modeling?

I want to be a model because when I look at the Hollister models and the Billabong, Rip Curl models I can see myself doing that kind of work. I want to work at some kind of beachy place that sells the beachy clothes, because that is where I grew up around, the beach. My personality is happy and laid back, even though most of the time I'm serious and not smiling. It's because I don't like where I'm at or I don't like the people around me. Yes, there will be days when I really don't like the photographer or the location of the photo shoot, but I will do my best to put it behind me and try to have fun.

Where specifically would you want to work?

Personally I would like to model for either Hollister or rip curl/Billabong. Hollister is in California and Billabong is in California and Hawaii, but traveled for the photoshoots.

What does a Model do?

Models have to keep up with up to date portfolios and composite cards to take to all castings and client auditions. A portfolio is a collection of a model's previous work, and a composite card contains all of the model's best work. Model work schedules can be demanding and stressful, many work part-time and have unpredictable work schedules and have to be ready to work at any given time no matter the circumstance. In the fashion industry "one day you're in and the next day you're out" so models can experience long periods of time unemployed

What do people say or how do they act to show that they think your clothes are good?Fashionable, trendy, stylish and chic, are all good ways that people talk about clothes that I wear.

How can I make used and refurbished clothes appealing? This topic is very important to me because many people are spending too much money on expensive high end clothes when they could get the same for less. So I am trying to show how the less expensive clothes are just as good as the expensive clothes for less money.

Who is your favorite designer? Why?Oscar DeLaRenta because he started so young and took the risk of dropping out of highschool to pursue his dreams and he was a huge success.

If you could meet your favorite designer, what would you ask them? I would ask him if it was difficult to leave his friends and family to pursue a career.

In your own words what do you think of fashion? Fashion could be many different things because it means different things to different people. Fashion is an art. It's a religion. It's a job. It's a peek into a personality. It's playful. It's an escape or a disguise. It is a feast for the eyes. But ultimately, fashion is an individual statement of expression for each of us.
