Blog #16 Double Page Spread - explanation

When it came to making my double page spread i didn't really run into any major problems and didn't find anything too difficult except for whether or not I was gonna write some thing in my double page spread. in the instructions it says this is strictly a layout of how I imagine your feature story would look and I shouldn't worry about putting in real copy or text at this juncture and that the goal here is to make it look like a double page spread But I feel like my double page spread looks weird or incomplete without any words but other than that i didn't have too much trouble making this. Although I did have to go back in to change the pictures so they could match with what I wrote overall i feel like it came out pretty good.

Blog# 14- Table of Contents – detailed explanation

I wanted the page for my table of contents to mach my cover page color wise at least, so I went through canva in order to search for a format i could base my table of contents on. For my table of Contents i wanted to do something that isn't to crazy or simple like just listing the section of my magazine from top to bottom and eventually I found one and went on from there.

I Choose red for the background because I wanted my table of contents to be similar to my cover page colorwise and I felt like choosing some random color like yellow or green would throw the whole thing off (I had to redo my table of contents because i couldn't base my format off of the ones on canva. So the colors are different then they previously were). The numbers in my page were used to show the page number for each of the sections. The font size for the page numbers in my table of contents are big because I wanted to show emphasis of the different section similar to how in a textbook the number of the chapter is larger than the other words or numbers. The pictures were added there so that the table of contents didn't look plain or have a lot of empty space.

Blog #12- Magazine Cover – detailed explanation

My magazine cover is a picture of my cousin. I used this photo because at first I thought i could use a photo of myself but later found out that I had to be the one to take the picture so since he likes to dress and look nice i asked him if i could take any pictures of him and he agreed to it. When it first came to making the magazine I already took photos of him before because he would ask me to take pictures and record videos of him so he can post it on social media. Since i already had photos of him i thought to myself "why don't i just use these picture as my cover and make a fashion magazine before I start to take more photos" so yeah this is how i decided to use the image.
Everything else like the coloring was used caused i felt like it went well with the picture.
To be honest i didn't really have any difficult when it came to taking any pictures. He would just pose and do other things and I just took the photos without any problems

Blogspot #9- house styles

Blogpost #8 First thoughts on house style

A magazines house style is some of the basic conventions that a magazine follows with all of it's covers. This can include the masthead, Font, colors, picture proportions/placements, location of the bar code and date etc.
Each magazine having a house style isn't a thing because a house style is a key part of my magazine and is very important both the writer and the reader, this is because it can keep the continuity throughout the magazine.
This can help the reader not to get confused on the genre or the brand of the magazine they're reading if it is all kept in the same house style. House style will include font, color scheme and general layout of the magazine.
A house style is a standard that magazine publishers or designers follow. Most companies use house styles to promote their brand.
The house style gives a very diverse look for all different magazine types because of genre and nearly all in the magazine market use this.
House styles has made me understand that each magazine is made for a different purpose for the audience to read and that there are diverse magazine that may focus on a persons specific preference.

Blog post #7 composition

Leading Lines

This was a picture taken for my long shot but i used it here because it could be used as a long shot. Your eyes move when looking at a photo. Try to manipulate how a person sees your subject, by using leading lines to draw the viewer's attention through your photo.

Perspective

I took this picture in my living room and its used to capture the essence of what you experience when viewing a scene, it helps to add an element to your photo to convey this perspective. The photo is suppose to give the reader an understanding of my point of view.

Balance

These pictures were taken outside my neighborhood and is used to achieve good balance in your photographs requires the correct combination of colors, shapes, and areas of light and dark that complement one another.

Angle of View

Some of the most interesting photographs are those taken from a unique vantage point. This picture was taken to experiment and try different perspectives. Look for angles that are interesting and demonstrate the mood and inspiration you're trying to capture.

Framing

I used foreground elements to frame my photo's subject. Architectural elements work well (windows, doorways, arches, and so on). The important point here is the subject which is the shoe.
