Blog # 21- Audience research

All media products have an intended target audience. I did some research for this task as it's important to have a background knowledge of existing brands and their audiences.
I am aiming toward people with more mainstream fashion sense. So fashion trends that were taken over by most people ages 16 - 25. As well as being interested in reflecting on fashion trends. Also people who are interested in keeping up with the latest trends.


Type of clothing might be too explicit for younger audience, so ages 16- 25 is great because they're more adults so content wouldn't fir their age, and there would be less judgement if a 20 year old is wearing a more explicit piece of clothing instead of a 12 year old. My target gender audience is both male and female and my magazine will be mainly on fashion trends and their common interests would be fashion or celebrities fashion.

I decided to challenge the stereotypes of indie audiences slightly and widen the age bracket to include younger people as I feel like the representation of artists in my magazine will interest them. Also, because they are likely to have a highly disposable but limited income. The younger demographic may be influenced by older audiences to buy this magazine and aspire to be them.
